The festival is a celebration of original music – primarily Slovak, but also international. We focus on jazz, blues, and electronic music, blending them with elements of world music. Our goal is to bring these genres closer not only to Slovak audience but also to international visitors.
🎶 We emphasize original compositions, live performances, and genre diversity.
15th Edition!
In 2025, we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the festival, which is became an established event amongst traditional music events in Slovakia.
However, we need your support to make it happen. Choose from our rewards and become a part of our festival!
International Collaboration
We support cooperation between Slovak musicians and artists from abroad. Thanks to this, unique musical projects are created here every year, offering audiences an unforgettable experience.
Who is the festival for?
The festival is open to all music lovers – from dedicated jazz fans to curious newcomers who enjoy the fusion of jazz with blues, rock, folk, or traditional music.
🎵 Thanks to this variety, everyone will find something they love – even those who are just getting to know jazz.
Unique Atmosphere
The festival takes place in the natural setting of an open-air amphitheatre, which gives it a unique atmosphere and makes it an exceptional experience, not only musically but also visually.
More than concerts
An essential part of the festival includes talks and meet-and-greets, where visitors can personally meet the musicians, ask questions, join discussions, and share their impressions from the concerts.

Who are we?
The Modrá Nota o.z. has been active since 2013, organizing cultural events – primarily music-focused – throughout Slovakia. However, its main area of operation is the Trenčín region and its surroundings.
One of the most prominent events organized or co-organized by Modrá Nota is OpenJazzFest, the largest open-air jazz festival in Slovakia, held in the natural amphitheatre at Zelená voda near Nové Mesto nad Váhom. In addition, we organize numerous club concerts, mainly featuring young Slovak musicians, with our home venue being Blue Note in Nové Mesto nad Váhom.
As part of our activities, we have also held several workshops for young musicians and actively support attendance at cultural events by offering free tickets to students from elementary art schools and high schools in the Nové Mesto nad Váhom district for the events we organize. In the past five years alone, we’ve been involved in organizing nearly 150 cultural events.
The key goal of Modrá Nota is to support young, emerging musicians – we help them with organizing their performances and involve them in festival programs so they can develop their talent and showcase their work, whether through solo concerts or as opening acts for well-known and popular artists.
We also launched the project „Jazz for the Young“, which provided young musicians with professional recordings of their performances. This project helped them better present themselves to promoters and organizers both in Slovakia and abroad. As part of this initiative, we organized and recorded 56 concerts of young talents, including artists like Dávid Hodek, Jerguš Oravec, Melisa Mandy Matušková, and others.
Why do we need your support?
Organizing a high-quality festival is no easy task – behind the technology, artist fees, and everything you see on stage lies a significant cost. The total festival budget is €126,000, part of which – €30,000 – is funded by the Slovak Arts Council (Fond na podporu umenia).
In today’s challenging economic climate, we rely heavily on barter partnerships, as many companies have significantly reduced their advertising budgets. Despite this, we are committed to delivering the festival at the highest level.
Our own financial resources come from previous event revenues, support from members of our civic association Modrá Nota, and ticket sales.
Your support will help us overcome these challenges and deliver a festival full of amazing music and unforgettable experiences.
