Sme rodičia malého Tomáška, ktorý v januári oslávi svoje 6. narodeniny. Keď mal necelé tri roky, lekári mu diagnostikovali detský autizmus. Odvtedy robíme všetko pre to, aby mohol napredovať a raz žiť čo najviac samostatne.
Tomáškova cesta
Už ako ročný a pol sme si všimli, že je iný než jeho starší braček. Na oslovenie nereagoval, nepozeral sa do očí, netešil sa z nášho príchodu. Akoby si nikoho okolo seba veľmi nevšímal.
Kým iné deti v jeho veku bľabotali a hrali sa, Tomáško si hračky len ukladal do radu alebo ich rozhadzoval – nerozumel, na čo slúžia. V noci sa často budil, niekedy aj osemkrát, a cez deň veľa nespával.
Keď mal necelé tri roky, klinická psychologička mu stanovila diagnózu detský autizmus, ktorú neskôr potvrdila aj detská psychiatrička.
Odvtedy sme sa nevzdali – navštevujeme rôzne terapie a hľadáme cesty, ako mu pomôcť. Od jeho tretích narodenín chodíme aj na hyperbarickú oxygenoterapiu, ktorá zlepšuje okysličenie organizmu. Vďaka nej sa Tomáškovi zlepšilo vnímanie a začal nadväzovať očný kontakt – pre nás obrovský pokrok.
Dnes je už predškolák a navštevuje špeciálnu materskú školu, kde s ním pracujú skúsené špeciálne pedagogičky a logopedička.
Napriek pokrokom Tomáško stále nerozpráva a používa plienky, no veríme, že s ďalšou odbornou pomocou sa posunie vpred.
Na čo konkrétne budú peniaze z tejto kampane použité?
Chceli by sme Tomáškovi umožniť absolvovanie fekálnej mikrobiálnej transplantácie (FMT) – terapie, ktorá prináša sľubné výsledky u detí s autizmom.
Táto metóda pomáha zlepšiť činnosť čriev a vstrebávanie živín, čo má priaznivý vplyv aj na nervovú sústavu, spánok, správanie a komunikáciu.
Liečba pozostáva z podania 10 rektálnych implantátov a jej cena je 4530 €.
Pred samotnou aplikáciou sa z čriev odstránia škodlivé baktérie a následne sa doplnia prospešné mikroorganizmy, ktoré obnovia zdravú črevnú mikroflóru.
Zdravé trávenie dokáže pozitívne ovplyvniť aj mozgovú činnosť – a práve v tom vidíme nádej, že sa Tomáškovi zlepší vnímanie sveta, komunikácia aj schopnosť reagovať na okolie.
Keďže však žiadne terapie pre deti s autizmom nie sú hradené zo zdravotného poistenia, rozhodli sme sa požiadať o pomoc touto cestou.

Who is organizing the campaign
We are the parents of little Tomáško, who will celebrate his 6th birthday in January. When he was less than three years old, doctors diagnosed him with childhood autism. Since then, we have been doing everything we can to help him progress and live as independently as possible.
Tomáško's journey
When he was a year and a half old, we noticed that he was different from his older brother. He did not respond to being addressed, did not look into our eyes, and was not happy about our arrival. It was as if he did not pay much attention to anyone around him.
While other children his age were babbling and playing, Tomáško would just line up his toys or throw them away – he did not understand what they were for. He woke up often at night, sometimes up to eight times, and did not sleep much during the day.
When he was less than three years old, a clinical psychologist diagnosed him with childhood autism, which was later confirmed by a child psychiatrist.
Since then, we haven't given up – we've been attending various therapies and looking for ways to help him. Since his third birthday, we've also been going to hyperbaric oxygen therapy, which improves oxygenation in the body. Thanks to it, Tomáš's perception has improved and he's started making eye contact – a huge step forward for us.
Today, he's a preschooler and attends a special kindergarten, where experienced special educators and a speech therapist work with him.
Despite the progress, Tomáš still doesn't talk and uses diapers, but we believe that with further professional help, he'll move forward.
What exactly will the money from this campaign be used for?
We would like to enable Tomáško to undergo fecal microbial transplantation (FMT) – a therapy that brings promising results in children with autism.
This method helps to improve intestinal function and nutrient absorption, which also has a positive effect on the nervous system, sleep, behavior and communication.
The treatment consists of administering 10 rectal implants and its price is €4,530.
Before the application itself, harmful bacteria are removed from the intestines and then beneficial microorganisms are added to restore healthy intestinal microflora.
Healthy digestion can also positively affect brain activity – and this is where we see hope that Tomáško’s perception of the world, communication and ability to react to his surroundings will improve.
However, since no therapies for children with autism are covered by health insurance, we decided to ask for help in this way.
