Kto je autor knihy?
Matej Ferenčík (1990) je vedec, ekológ a medzinárodne ocenený fotograf – ale predovšetkým milovník Karpát. Väčšinu svojho života strávil v objatí Karpát, ktoré sa stali jeho domovom, laboratóriom aj ateliérom. Kniha Srdcom v Karpatoch je jeho srdcový projekt, ktorý vznikol z lásky a obdivu k tomu najvzácnejšiemu, čo v Európe ešte máme – k divokej prírode.
Karpaty sa naučil vnímať nielen očami vedca a fotografa, ale predovšetkým srdcom.
Čo je obsahom knihy?
Kniha obsahuje množstvo informácií o rôznych krajinných prvkoch, ekosystémoch, živočíchoch a ekologických interakciách – a to všetko je sprevádzané vyše 230 autentickými zábermi, ktoré autor zachytil počas 13 rokov výskumov a potuliek po Karpatoch. Výber z týchto fotografií, vytlačených na vysokokvalitnom plátne vo formátoch 60 × 40 cm a 90 × 60 cm, nájdete aj medzi odmenami a môžete si ich objednať spolu s knihou.
Aká bola moja motivácia k vytvoreniu knihy Srdcom v Karpatoch?
Je to už mnoho rokov, keď sa v mojej hlave, alebo skôr v srdci, zrodila myšlienka. Túžil som sprostredkovať všetku tú nádheru, ktorá ma počas mojich výskumov a potuliek po Karpatoch obklopovala, aj ďalším ľuďom. Už vtedy som niekde vo svojom vnútri cítil, že jedného dňa to bude formou knihy. Nuž a ten moment nastal práve teraz.

Who is the author of the book?
Matej Ferenčík (born 1990) is a scientist, ecologist, and internationally awarded photographer – but above all, a true lover of the Carpathians, where he grew up, lives, and continues to create. With the Heart in the Carpathians is his passion project – born from love and reverence for the most precious treasure we still have in Europe: the wild nature. He has learned to see the Carpathians not only through the eyes of a scientist and photographer, but most of all – with his heart.
What’s inside the book?
The book offers a wealth of information about various landscape features, ecosystems, species, and ecological interactions – all accompanied by 230 authentic photographs captured by the author over 13 years of research and wandering through the Carpathians.
A curated selection of some photographs, printed on high-quality canvas in sizes 60 × 40 cm and 90 × 60 cm, is also available among the rewards and can be ordered together with the book.
What inspired me to create With the Heart in the Carpathians?
Many years ago, an idea – perhaps more a feeling – took root in my heart. I longed to share the beauty that surrounded me during my research and wanderings through the Carpathians with others. Even back then, deep inside, I knew that one day this would take the shape of a book. And that moment… has come now.
How will your contributions be used?
Your support will help cover the costs of producing, printing, and distributing With the Heart in the Carpathians, as well as preparing the rewards that will be sent to you as a token of gratitude. Contributions will also go toward celebrating the book’s release – its official launch.
