Ahoj! Som Mia a divadlu sa venujem od mojich siedmich rokov. Momentálne žijem v Londýne, kam som prišla študovať herectvo. Prednedávnom ma zobrali do National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, kde sa už toto leto začína ich kurz. Po tomto kurze by som sa stala oficiálnym členom NYT, čo by mi pomohlo otvoriť dvere k novým skvelým možnostiam. NYT je prvé mládežnícke divadlo na svete a medzi jej členov patrili aj herci ako Daniel Craig, Daniel Day-Lewis, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Colin Firth, Ben Kingsley, Helen Mirren, Rosamund Pike, Orlando Bloom, Kate Winslet a mnohí ďalší. //

Hi! I am Mia and I first performed in theatres when I was seven years old. I currently live in London, where I came to study acting. Not long ago, I was accepted to the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, for their intake course starting this summer. After this course, I would become an official member of the NYT, which could open the door to great new opportunities. NYT is the world's first youth theatre and amongst its members are actors such as Daniel Craig, Daniel Day-Lewis, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Colin Firth, Ben Kingsley, Helen Mirren, Rosamund Pike, Orlando Bloom, Kate Winslet and many others.

Do NYT sa ročne dostane menej než 10% uchádzačov, keďže sa tam ročne hlásia tisícky ľudí z celého Anglicka, čiže ma veľmi teší, že sa mi na prvý raz podarilo dostať túto skvelú možnosť byť súčasťou ensemblu vedeného profesionálnym divadelným režisérom. //

Less than 10% of applicants get into the NYT every year, as thousands of people from all over England apply there every year, so I am very grateful that I managed to get this wonderful opportunity to be part of an ensemble led by a professional theatre director.

Moja cesta do NYT

Podala som si žiadosť o štipendium priamo v NYT, no tá mi bola zamietnutá a nepokryje mi teda žiadne výdavky spojené s kurzom. Kurz začína v auguste v Sidcupe a je to intenzívna herecká prax s 8 hodinovými skúškami denne, 6 krát do týždňa, čo znamená, že počas jeho trvania nebudem mať veľa možností a času pracovať a zarábať na platenie nájmu v Londýne a základných výdavkov. Preto som sa rozhodla obrátiť sa na Vás s prosbou o pomoc k splneniu môjho sna a možnosti viac sa vzdelať v oblasti divadelného herectva, ktoré mi je už od detstva srdcu veľmi blízke. A aj keď aj teraz pri písaní tohto textu sa hanbím, budem nesmierne vďačná za každú pomoc, či už finančnú alebo prezdieľanie môjho príbehu. //

I applied for a scholarship directly at the NYT, but it was rejected and it won't cover any of my course expenses. The course starts in Sidcup in August and is an intensive acting practice with 8 hours of rehearsals a day, 6 times a week, which means I won't have much time to work and earn enough money to pay London rent and basic expenses in the duration of the course. That's why I decided to turn to you with a request for help to fulfil my dream and the possibility of further education in the field of theatre acting, which has been very close to my heart since childhood. And even though I am embarrassed to ask for help even now while writing this text, I will be extremely grateful for any help, be it financial or sharing my story.
