We lost our equipment and a heaps of unreleased music.
After our concert at the Bratislava May Festival, on the night from Saturday to Sunday (May 2–3, 2026), someone broke into our accommodation while we were asleep. They stole some personal belongings, but most importantly the equipment we use every day for creating, recording, and running our studio – especially our MacBook Pro.
The most painful loss, however, is the SSD drives containing unreleased music – months of work, time, and love that we put into it. For many of us, it was the most valuable thing we had. Countless hours, energy, and creative effort that we can no longer recover.
Our studio is currently paralyzed.
Unfortunately, everyone in the band lives month to month and we don’t have the financial reserves to replace the equipment. Without it, we can’t continue recording our original music or contribute to the creative community around us. Just to give you an idea, 15 different music projects have been created in our studio over the past two years. Part of this music is now gone forever. We usually back up all projects responsibly, with backups kept safe in the studio. This time, however, we had the SSD drives with us, we were traveling from Berlin to Slovakia and, due to an approaching deadline, we needed to mix and export during the trip. Bad luck, you can’t imagine how sorry we are.
We tried everything, but the chances of recovery are minimal.
Right after the theft, we spent the whole day at the police station with investigators and lawyers to make sure everything was properly documented and examined. Meanwhile, the rest of the band searched the city and pawn shops in an attempt to recover the items on our own. According to the police, however, the chances of finding them or receiving financial compensation from the perpetrators are very low.
That’s why we’re asking for your help, to get our recording studio back up and running, a place where much music is created, a place that is our second home.
The collected funds will be used for:
- MacBook Pro (higher-spec configuration suitable for production work)
- SSD drives for backups
- studio security (lock replacement and safety measures)
- iPhone (second-hand)
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any help or for sharing this.
Tolstoys
