Hi!
My name is Viktoria, and probably the first thing you should know about me is that singing is my life.
Music has accompanied me, perhaps since the first moment I remember in my life. That moment was my first year of life when I sang my first song. When I was four, my parents signed me up for singing lessons. So I started learning music theory as a kindergartener. As I got older, my love for music deepened. I applied to the Prague Conservatory (the oldest conservatory in Central
Europe). Today is the sixth and the last year I have studied at this school. During my studies, my dream became Berklee College of Music – the best music school in the world for popular
music.
It was like a dream to get there.
A dream that I managed to fulfill when I found out that I was accepted at the beginning of
the year.
Why Berklee College of Music?
Besides that Berklee is the best music school in the world for popular music, this place is home to the best music professors from around the world. This school is in the USA. In the birthplace of jazz and blues and at the center of the development of popular music. It is school that has the most Grammy Award-winning graduates in the world. It is an immense honor to have the opportunity to be a part of this extraordinary community.
I am one step away from being able to start learning at this amazing school. Finance. Since I found out that I was accepted, I have contacted countless foundations, companies, scholarship and grant programs in the Czech and Slovak Republics. But I always got the same answer. For support from the Czech Republic, I was not a Czech citizen, and for support from Slovakia, I was not a student of a Slovak secondary school, or the support did not apply to school abroad. I also contacted the Ministry of Education but again, with a negative message that they do not have any type of support for my type of study. Starting a fundraiser was my last option, and I truly hope it will be successful.
THANK YOU in advance to each and every one of you who decides to help even with one euro.
I will cherish and remember it indescribably.
What exactly will be the money used for?
The money will be used to pay for:
tuition in the amount of $45,468
accommodation in the amount of $18,828
and necessary fees associated with the study, such as:
school fees $1,332
health insurance $2,699
books $474
and other.
I received a merit-based scholarship from Berklee College of Music in the amount of $14,000.
The total cost of studies minus the scholarship amounts to $54,801, what is approximately EUR 52,061. It is an amount without travel, compulsory school equipment, and other compulsory fees, which amount to more than $7,000, and I plan to pay them from my own resources.
