Who is organizing the campaign?
My name is Nikola Toráčová, and I'm a mother to my little Emka. Nothing during my pregnancy suggested that anything was wrong. But right after birth, we received the cruel news—Emka was born with a single-ventricle heart.
Doctors didn't give us much hope, saying she might not live for even a week. Today, Emka is 2 months old, and in Austria, we've been given hope: a series of operations that could save her life.
She faces three challenging operations:
* The first one is in just a few weeks.
* The second one is when she is 4 to 5 months old.
* The last one is when she is 1 to 2 years old, when she starts walking.
These procedures are our only chance to give Emka life—even if it's not a full life, it’s a life with a childhood and love.
Who are we helping?
You will be helping Emka—a small warrior who is already defying all expectations. If she doesn't undergo these operations, her life will very likely end within a few months.
These three operations are crucial. They will give her hope for a normal childhood and a chance to grow up, laugh, and one day maybe say „thank you“ to everyone who helped her.
What exactly will the money from this campaign be used for?
The funds from this campaign will be used for:
* Travel costs to and from Austria (several times during treatment).
* Accommodation during the months spent abroad.
* Medical devices, specifically:
* a saturation monitor that will continuously track Emka's health after the operation.
This device is extremely important. It will allow us to detect any complications early (e.g., a drop in saturation or bleeding), which could be life-threatening after the operations.
