Razval is an officer in the 17th Army Corps. Officers travel in old cars – which are cheap and easy to repair – from the corps' forward bases (40km from the front) to the battalion command posts (15km from the front), mostly using destroyed asphalt roads.
Younger Razval 😎
Razval has been fighting the Russian horde since 2018, having spent his entire adult life at war. Since 2022, his brigade held the famous position of Zenit in the encircled Avdiivka, which the Russian horde captured in February 2024.
We want to help Razval and his reconnaissance scouts carry out their combat missions
These missions include transporting soldiers to the site of combat, transporting food, water, and ammunition to front-line positions, and evacuating the wounded. All of this requires a pickup truck that can reliably handle difficult terrain while also having sufficient space to load soldiers, equipment, and supplies.
Without vehicles, the men have to walk long kilometres across muddy winter fields, carrying heavy equipment and supplies on foot. Officers have given all their off-road pickup trucks to soldiers in the trenches and at evacuation points – which is why the officers now need at least a basic, capable vehicle like a Škoda Octavia for transport.
Why do guys need an old Octavia and a durable pickup truck?
The old Škoda Octavia is only expected to last a few months. After it inevitably breaks down (on Ukrainian roads), it will be used for spare parts for the other old Octavias, which are currently wrecks.
The pickup truck will be, without any extra cost, inspected and modified in a military workshop in Ukraine. This vehicle is intended to transport soldiers and supplies and evacuate the wounded for as long as possible.
The destroyed Peugeot in the south of Zaporizhzhia was used for civilian evacuation.
Cars are considered a consumable near the front-line areas, yet they are not cheap – especially given the meagre salaries of soldiers, who can only buy the bare essentials with their pay, send some home, and leave the rest with mechanics for repairs.
The pickup truck will be imported from the United Kingdom – at half the price ‼️
‼️ The cost of the delivery, repairs, and modifications is half the price of buying an L200 here in Slovakia (anyone can Google how much a functioning L200 costs at our market) – we can source a fully prepared L200 for half the purchase price on the Slovak market.‼️
Funds from the campaign will be used for:
-
Purchase of the pickup truck and associated import costs to Ukraine: Mitsubishi L200 – €6,100
-
Purchase of a utilitarian vehicle for transport on better roads, an old Škoda Octavia type vehicle: €1,300 – this sum also covers administrative fees (registration transfer) and the journey to Zaporizhzhia.
Any funds raised above the target amount will be used to cover fuel costs for the L200 or for Christmas gifts for the 17th Army Corps.
Photos from the journey will be attached to this fundraiser via updates.
Thank you for your help! :)
