Who organizes the campaign?
Hello friends, together with several volunteers and my close friends, we are developing this amazing project. We started helping in the delivery of humanitarian aid in March 2022, but for the last year and a half we have been mainly working with small communities and helping grandmothers with their daily challenges. We are a group of freelance volunteers (some help in Slovakia, some in Ukraine) and we organize and finance our projects ourselves as much as possible. In the summer, with your help, we want to organize small festivals “Kopa dobra” („Heaps of goodness“) for communities from various frontline areas in Ukraine.
Punks of joy :
We are creating this challenge to bring live music, joy and as much light as possible to the brave Ukrainian people. A year ago, together with a group of friends, we started repairing houses destroyed by bombs in the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine. This lovely punk project slowly developed into something much bigger. In the village, together with a group of several volunteers, we spent months not only repairing roofs, windows, doors, ceilings, but also, as we like to say – relationships:) We simply became part of a beautiful and lively community. After work, we sang, Matúš played the guitar, we visited our grandmothers, ate a lot of cakes, played football, learned jokes… and most of all, we made friends with people who are so desperately looking for someone to talk to. Because actually even those leaky roofs are not as terrible as loneliness.
Who will we help?
The children and communities, we want to return to, live in villages in the frontline areas. Their family/social background does not allow them to leave their homes, so they have been living in villages and houses that are (to a very large extent) destroyed for more than 2 years. No school, no playground…no possibility of trips or simply various leisure activities. So here the idea was born, to bring these communities, at least for a short moment, a day full of joy. We have already supported some of those communities within our brigades last year, but we want to go even further this summer:) We are going to organize a one-day festival in several villages, full of music, creativity and joy.
What exactly will the money from this campaign be used for?
Thanks to your support, we will buy a huge pot for cooking, an audio box, colors of all the worlds, sprays, t-shirts for painting, a lot of material for crafting, and we will also give children small Patrons – brooches from our friends from the sheltered workshop Hentototo.
For the first milestone of 2,500 euros, you will contribute to:
Audio box, huge pot for cooking, food, travel expenses (petrol/train tickets) and 250 Patrons dog brooches.
For another milestone of 5000 euros, we can:
Add an evening cinema to our festival, give away another 250 Patrons dog brooches and also buy t-shirts and spray paint.
A lot of music with a little money:
However, we are determined to make our festivals happen with any financial support, so in any case we guarantee you a lot of music. The important thing is that we will simply be together.
Patrons dog brooch:
We have been friends with the sheltered workshop Hentototo for some time. Their super cartoonists decided to help and support children in Ukraine, so they drew the dog Patron – the protector of the most vulnerable. Patron is a professional mine hunter. His mission is to protect adults and children so they can return to a safe life – to the playground or the park.
This is what Luky, an artist from Hentototo, wrote: „I admire him because he is a smart and selfless hero who makes Ukraine a safer and freer place. And I also admire you and everyone else, how you manage it so bravely. You deserve the highest praise. This little protector can be with you whenever you need it. Even in the dark. Charge it under the lamp and bravely turn off the light.“
For your support, we will print hundreds of small Patrons and distribute them across the villages to little heroes. Our goal is to give away as many as possible!
PS: Every supporter over 20 euros will be contacted after the collection and will be able to get their own Patron as a reward :)
