Pomôžme Majke napredovať
Ahojte, volám sa Majka. Nikdy by som si nemyslela, že o tom, či raz budem môcť žiť plnohodnotný život, budú vo veľkej miere rozhodovať peniaze.
Mám reálnu šancu postupne sa osamostatniť, začleniť do spoločnosti a jedného dňa žiť život, ktorý si budem môcť naplno užívať.
Potrebujem však pravidelné terapie a rehabilitácie. Práve tie rozhodujú o tom, či budem istejšie kráčať, zrozumiteľnejšie rozprávať a zvládať bežné činnosti bez pomoci druhých.
Preto sa 1000 Pull Up Challenge rozhodlo venovať svoj šiesty ročník práve mne.
Čo je to 1000 Pull Up Challenge?
Má už 5 ročnú históriu a pomohli až 32 000 eurami.
Trpí bronchopulmonálnou dyspláziou a každý deň potrebuje domácu kyslíkovú liečbu.
Vďaka vašej pomoci jej môžeme zabezpečiť až rok a pol pravidelných terapií a odbornej starostlivosti. Pre Majku terapie nie sú niečím navyše. Sú jej šancou, že raz bude istejšie chodiť, lepšie rozprávať a zvládať bežné činnosti.
Jej maminka už sedem rokov hľadá možnosti, ako každú terapiu zaplatiť, a musí premýšľať nad každým eurom. Vďaka tejto pomoci si bude môcť konečne vydýchnuť a dopriať Majke liečbu, ktorú si zaslúži a potrebuje.
Ak sa podarí získať viac, než bude hodnota všetkých vykonaných zhybov, zvyšné financie použije občianske združenie 1000 Pull Up Challenge na ďalší rozvoj projektu a pomoc ďalším deťom a rodinám. Pomoc tak nezostane iba pri Majke. Umožní nám rásť, spájať ďalších ľudí, vytvárať nové vzťahy a o rok pomôcť ďalšej rodine.
Help Majka with her progress
Hi, my name is Majka. I never imagined that whether I would one day be able to live a full and independent life would depend so greatly on money.
I have a real chance to gradually become more independent, become part of society and one day live a life that I can truly enjoy.
But I need regular therapies and rehabilitation. They are what determine whether I will be able to walk with greater confidence, speak more clearly and manage everyday activities without relying on the help of others. I am a true fighter and I am ready to work hard every single day.
My mum is raising me on her own. She loves me more than anything, would give me everything she has and does everything she can to give me a better future. However, providing full time care for me makes it impossible for her to work enough to cover all the therapies I need.
The specialists know how to help me. I have the strength to keep fighting. My mum has the determination to stand by my side. The only obstacle is money.
Right now, finances are what determine whether I will remain dependent on the help of others or receive the chance to live a more independent and fulfilling life.
That is why 1000 Pull Up Challenge has decided to dedicate its sixth annual event to me.
What is the 1000 Pull Up Challenge?
It is a project that combines sport with helping children who truly need support. The project has a five year history and has already provided €32,000 in support.
Over the course of six hours, hundreds of people will try to complete as many pull ups as possible. Every single pull up represents 10 cents towards my better future.
On 26 September 2026, in front of Eurovea in Bratislava, we will come together and attempt to surpass 200,000 pull ups in just six hours.
Every pull up can mean another therapy session.
Every therapy session can mean another step towards my independence.
Majka's story
Majka was born prematurely in the 32nd week of pregnancy, weighing only 1,650 grams. Immediately after birth, doctors had to resuscitate her. She has been fighting since the very first day of her life.
She suffered bleeding in the brain, serious lung complications, numerous hospital stays and several demanding operations.
She has bronchopulmonary dysplasia and requires oxygen therapy at home every day.
Genetic testing also diagnosed her with a microduplication syndrome affecting the chromosomal region 7q31.2 to q33. It is a rare genetic disorder whose symptoms can vary significantly from person to person.
In Majka's case, it causes significant developmental delay, speech difficulties and challenges with psychomotor development. The condition is also associated with an increased risk of neurological complications, including epileptic seizures, as well as other related health problems.
Majka did not begin walking independently until the age of three. Her walking is still unsteady, and she also struggles with speaking, eating, swallowing and drinking liquids.
Things that most of us take for granted require enormous effort from Majka.
Every step, every word and every bite she manages independently is something she has to work incredibly hard for.
Despite everything she has been through, Majka is a cheerful, sociable and determined little girl. She works incredibly hard during her therapy sessions and shows us every day that she refuses to give up.
What exactly will the money raised through this campaign be used for?
Majka's intensive treatment costs approximately €1,400 per month.
With your support, we can provide her with up to a year and a half of regular therapy and professional care.
For Majka, therapy is not something extra. It is her chance to walk more confidently, speak more clearly and gradually manage everyday activities on her own.
For the past seven years, her mum has constantly searched for ways to pay for every therapy session and has had to think carefully about every single euro.
Thanks to your support, she will finally be able to breathe a little easier and provide Majka with the treatment she deserves and desperately needs.
If more money is raised than the total value of all completed pull ups, the remaining funds will be used by the 1000 Pull Up Challenge nonprofit organisation to further develop the project and support more children and families.
This means that the impact of your support will not end with Majka. It will allow us to grow, bring more people together, build new partnerships and help another family next year.
Majka has been fighting since the very first day of her life.
Now we will fight alongside her.
We sincerely appreciate every single euro, every share and every other form of support.
Thank you for helping Majka receive the chance to live a more independent and fulfilling life.
