This campaign is organized by Miloš's wife, Daniela, who constantly supports her husband and does everything so that Miloš can live a full life, like before.
Miloš's Story: One second changed his whole life
Until 16th of January 2024 Miloš lived a full, active life. He worked as a truck driver, he loved his job and was behind the wheel at home and abroad. Responsible, hardworking, always with a zest for life. Together we were looking forward to a new chapter in life – we planned our wedding, a life together and new beginnings. Love blooms at any age, and it was no different with us.
Diagnosis and fatal medical surgery
In the summer of 2023, Miloš was diagnosed with recurrent hemangioblastoma – a benign tumor in the cerebellum. He had already undergone two successful surgeries in the past (2001 and 2007). A third surgery was scheduled for early January 2024. However, before that, the doctors decided for the embolization procedure – they were going to close a vessel so that he would not bleed during the surgery.
Unfortunately, during the surgery, the medical glue leaked outside the vessel – and in one second everything changed. Miloš suffered an acute stroke caused by the glue leaking out. The consequences were drastic: paralysis of the entire right side of his body, speech was also affected, as well as swallowing, he got double vision, infections, inflammation and thrombosis. The tumor was not operated on again – priority was given to long and difficult rehabilitation.
The journey of rehabilitation and daily struggle
After more than two months in hospitals, Miloš returned home. With the help of ADOS, also a private physiotherapist and close family, he started daily rehabilitation. However, new challenges awaited us at home – as we live on the 7th floor of a block of flats with a small elevator and no barrier-free access, the wheelchair can barely get into the bathroom or toilet.
In the summer of 2024, he completed professional rehabilitation in Kováčová – there he began to learn the basics of independence. Progress was slow but real. He learned to move his fingers at least a little, with the help of two people he learned how to get into the bath, he could put on a T-shirt himself. He was practicing writing, walking in a walker (with help), reading and speech.
Love has not disappeared – we got married
We got married at the end of June 2024. Quietly, only in the circle of our closest family and friends, but with great love and determination. We are fighting together. The days are difficult, but we believe in improvement. Miloš also underwent a hyperbaric chamber, robotic walking in Lokomat (Lehnice), and in early 2025 he underwent radiation in Prague. We will wait for the results until early 2026.
Current status and desire not to give up
Miloš is still in a wheelchair. He has ataxia, poor coordination and sensation in the right part of his body. Muscles are stiff, speech is unclear, vision is still double. He still cannot eat by himself, move around, or dress himself. Every little progress requires enormous effort. And yet he doesn´t give up. Training at home continues – he exercises on a motomed, with a G walker, speech therapy, occupational therapy.
We go out together, to church, to visits and cultural events. Miloš wants to live – to be part of the world, not just survive. He fights with amazing strength.
In 2025 we also tried specialized rehabilitation at Hendi Center Piešťany where Miloš makes the greatest progress thanks to specialized therapies, individual approach and modern aids. Here, his hands, foot and finger motor skills find improvements. Miloš found hope, strength and motivation there. However, private care is very expensive.
What will the money raised be used for?
Repeated rehabilitation at Hendi Center Piešťany
Each two-week stay costs €4,200–4,500. Health insurance companies do not reimburse them, we pay from our own resources.
Miloš´s dream is that one day he will be walking again, of standing back up on his feet That he will be independent, that he will be my support as a husband. He doesn't just want to survive, but to truly live.
That's why we ask for your help. Every share, every euro, every prayer – all this gives him hope for a better future. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping.
With gratitude and humility,
Miloš's wife, Daniela
